Hospitals Care for Victims of Florida School Shooting
Broward Health hospitals received 17 patients from a mass shooting yesterday at a high school in Parkland, FL, including two who have died and five who are in life-threatening condition, the health system reported today. Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach was treating nine patients, Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale seven, and Broward Health Coral Springs one. According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, 15 shooting victims died at the school. “The women and men of Broward Health have been doing what comes most naturally to them – putting patients first – even under tragic circumstances,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “They have worked tirelessly to care for others, both the victims and their families.”
