Healthways is William Newton Hospital’s educational outreach program, founded in 1982 to promote a healthy lifestyle and personal awareness of health risks. The program offers the following services to the community at low or no cost: fitness classes, coronary risk profiles, corporate wellness services, fitness assessments, health risk appraisals, risk-reduction programs, stress management, disease prevention screenings and exercise prescriptions.

William Newton Hospital believes that prevention is key, and the key to prevention is education.

Impact

Since its inception in 1982, the program has reached more than 32,000 community members. This includes participation in wellness classes, preventative health screenings and educational classes and community events such as health fairs.
