Agency updates agenda for U.S. emergency medical services system
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Office of Emergency Medical Services today released an updated agenda for the nation’s EMS system. Developed with stakeholder and public input, the EMS Agenda 2050 targets a “people-centered” EMS system that is “inherently safe and effective, integrated and seamless, reliable and prepared, socially equitable, sustainable and efficient, and adaptable and innovative." In addition to NHTSA, the report was developed with support from the Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration and Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Health Affairs.
