St. Louis Children’s Hospital names president

St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare named Mark Shen, M.D., president of St. Louis Children’s Hospital effective Nov. 12. Most recently, Shen served as CEO of St. Louis-based Ascension’s Texas Accountable Network and senior vice president of network development at Ascension Texas. 

Vail Health appoints CEO

Colorado-based Vail Health selected Will Cook to serve as president and CEO effective January 2019. Cook currently serves as president and CEO of University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, which is part of UCHealth in Denver. 

Northern Arizona Healthcare names permanent CEO

Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare named Florence Spyrow to the role of permanent CEO. Spyrow was interim CEO of the organization since March. Previously she was the health system’s executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Flagstaff Medical Center. 

University Hospitals names chief clinical transformation officer

Cleveland-based University Hospitals appointed Peter Pronovost, M.D., to the role of chief clinical transformation officer. Pronovost was previously senior vice president for clinical strategy and also the chief medical officer for UnitedHealthcare. Prior to that he served at Johns Hopkins Medicine for 20 years.
