The AHA has elected six new members to its Board of Trustees for three-year terms beginning Jan. 1. The incoming members are: Joan Coffman, president and CEO of St. Tammany Health System in Covington, La.; Leslie (Les) Hirsch, president and CEO of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System in New Brunswick, N.J.; Philip Ozuah, M.D., president and CEO of Montefiore Medicine in New York City; Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association in Okemos, Mich.; Lisa Shannon, president and CEO of Allina Health in Minneapolis; and Robert Vissers, M.D., president and CEO of Boulder Community Health in Boulder, Colo. 
 
Two members currently filling unexpired terms were also elected to full three-year terms: Bill Gassen, president and CEO of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, S.D., who joined the board in Jan. 2024; and Joseph Impicciche, chief executive officer of Ascension Healthcare in St. Louis, who joined the Board in Feb. 2023. 
 
Michael Ugwueke, president and CEO of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn. was elected to fill an unexpired term immediately which will expire Dec. 31, 2026.
