The AHA Board of Trustees elected as its chair-elect designate Christina (Tina) M. Freese Decker, president and CEO of Michigan-based Corewell Health. Freese Decker will serve as chair-elect in 2024 and become AHA chair in 2025. She currently serves on the AHA Board of Trustees and previously served as a member of AHA’s Health System Leadership Council, Center for Health Innovation Advisory Council and Regional Policy Board.

“Working together to improve each person's health is what all of us have in common. We have many challenges and many opportunities ahead of us,” Freese Decker said. “The greatest opportunity is to showcase our innovation, grit and compassion to evolve and transform health care. I look forward to serving the AHA and its members in our pursuit of better health.”
