CMS rule would implement legislative changes to Medicaid DSH calculation

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services yesterday issued a proposed rule implementing changes to Medicaid’s hospital-specific Disproportionate Share Hospital cap calculations for state Medicaid programs under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. In addition, the proposed rule recommends several technical updates to the Medicaid DSH program. Comments on the rule are due to the agency by April 24.
