Bestselling author and NBC News contributor Heather McGhee will give the keynote address at AHA’s 2022 Accelerating Health Equity Conference in Cleveland. McGhee, author of the New York Times bestseller The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together, will pull back the curtain on how racism divides and devastates us, while offering a path forward for creating a just and equitable future for all. The conference is a joint effort by the AHA Community Health Improvement network and the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity to advance a shared mission to close health equity gaps by building strategic hospital-community partnerships and developing and sustaining diversity and inclusion across the field.
