The American Medical Association last week published eight new Current Procedural Terminology codes for providers administering COVID-19 vaccines. The codes are used to report Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and immunization administration for the tris-sucrose formulation; Pfizer COVID-19 immunization administration booster doses; and Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and immunization administration booster doses. The CPT codes for the Moderna vaccine will be effective upon it receiving emergency use authorization or approval from the Food and Drug Administration. For more details on the codes, visit AMA’s webpage
