Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar today discussed public health issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccination efforts, during a virtual forum moderated by AHA Executive Vice President Tom Nickels.

Topics ranged from the administration’s initiatives to address the opioid and mental health crises, HIV epidemic, kidney disease and Ebola to how to get more “boots on the ground” to treat COVID-19 patients and administer the vaccine, lessons learned managing the COVID-19 situation over the past nine months, and the pace of vaccination.

A replay of the event should be available soon on the HHS YouTube website.
