American Organization for Nursing Leadership Board Chair Mary Ann Fuchs yesterday welcomed nearly 3,000 attendees to AONL 2020, which was held virtually.

“We’re not strangers to navigating a crisis, but the scale and scope of COVID-19 has required our leadership like never before,” said Fuchs, chief nurse executive for Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C. “To impact our nation’s health, we must work together and advocate for the changes we know must be made. The good news is nurses are problem solvers … together we are unstoppable.”

Keynote speakers included Rebecca Love, president of the Society of Nurse Scientists, Innovators, Entrepreneurs and Leaders, who spoke on past and present nursing innovations. Harvard University Professor David Williams presented research on health equity and race, detailing successful solutions to address health disparities.

With more than 50 concurrent sessions, the conference offered nurse leaders many opportunities to learn about innovation, a key theme of the day. Information about on-demand conference content is available on AONL’s website.
