Hospital mergers are worth discussing, but “too often the criticism is far from rigorous” and “more like an echo chamber,” which does a “disservice to our communities and the millions of consumer who rely on hospitals and health systems for their care,” write AHA General Counsel Melinda Hatton and others in an AHA Stat Blog post.
