The National Center for Healthcare Leadership last night presented its 2019 Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award to Rodney Hochman, M.D., president and CEO of Renton, Wash.,-based Providence St. Joseph Health and chair-elect designate of the AHA Board of Trustees. "Dr. Hochman is a bold leader, who has used his intellect and curiosity to improve and innovate health care, and to take it one step further by using health care to improve the community,” NCHL President and Board Chair Tim Rice said in announcing the recipient in July. The annual award recognizes a health care leader whose commitment, values and contributions embody the center’s vision to improve the health of the public through leadership and organizational excellence.
