The AHA’s American Society for Health Care Engineering presented its 2019 Crystal Eagle Leadership Award to York Chan, vice president of facilities integration for Advocate Aurora Health, a system of 28 acute care hospitals in Illinois and Wisconsin, during its Annual Conference and Technical Exhibition this week in Baltimore. The award recognizes lifetime achievement and contributions to ASHE and the field of health care facility management. Chan served as an ASHE board member from 2008 to 2012 and currently teaches several classes as an ASHE faculty member. Among other honorees, ASHE presented its President’s Award to Linda Dickey, R.N., senior director of epidemiology and infection prevention at UCI Health, the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, for excellence in optimizing the health care physical environment. ASHE is an AHA professional membership group.
