The House of Representatives today voted 211-198 to approve a package of funding bills (H.R. 3354) that would provide all discretionary funding for the federal government for fiscal year 2018. According to a House Appropriations Committee summary, the package includes $77.6 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services, $542 million less than last year but $14.5 billion more than the president’s budget request. The Senate continues to work on its own appropriations bills. The current continuing resolution funding the government expires Dec. 8.
