In a letter yesterday to governors, Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma outlined several areas where they plan to work with states to improve the Medicaid program. These include working with states to improve program management; support innovative approaches to increase employment and community engagement; align Medicaid and private insurance policies for non-disabled adults; improve timelines and processes for the home and community-based services rule; and provide states with more tools to address the opioid epidemic.
