The AHA today released an updated PowerPoint slide deck to help hospital leaders, clinicians and trustees prepare for the new Medicare physician quality payment program, for which performance measurement starts in 2017 under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act. The slides provide an overview of the two payment tracks, the Merit-based Incentive Payment System and advanced alternative payment models, and delve into key aspects of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ final rule implementing the new payment system. The slides include presenter notes to allow for “plug-and-play” ease. The AHA recommends pairing the PPT slides with the association’s MACRA infographic to facilitate hospitals’ educational efforts with their clinicians and trustees.
