AHA urges House to pass 21st Century Cures Act
The AHA today praised Congress for its work on the 21st Century Cures Act and expressed support for the bill. “We urge the House to approve this legislation tomorrow, as it helps improve hospitals’ ability to treat some of the most vulnerable patients,” wrote AHA Executive Vice President Tom Nickels in a letter to House members. “The bill includes important provisions related to hospital outpatient services, rural health care, a much needed socioeconomic adjustment to the readmissions program, relief for long-term care hospitals, and important provisions related to behavioral health and opioids.” AHA members received an Alert yesterday with more information on the bill.
