The AHA’s Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence initiative and Institute for Diversity in Health Management will host a free webinar Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. ET highlighting strategies that hospitals and health systems can implement to advance health equity, diversity and inclusion. Ninfa Saunders, president and CEO of Navicent Health in Macon, GA, will discuss efforts the health system has undertaken to achieve the goals of AHA’s #123forEquity Pledge to Act Campaign to Eliminate Health Care Disparities. More than 1,300 hospitals and health systems have signed the #123forEquity pledge, which asks organizations to begin taking action to accelerate progress on increasing the collection and use of race, ethnicity, language preference and other socio-demographic data; increasing cultural competency training; and increasing diversity in leadership and governance. Navicent Health this year was recognized as an honoree for the AHA’s Equity of Care Award. To register for the Dec. 5 webinar, visit www.hpoe.org.
