CMS issues APIs to help physicians implement MACRA Quality Payment Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today released application program interfaces to help clinicians implement the Quality Payment Program mandated by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015. Developers can use the APIs to build software applications to help clinicians and their practices automatically share electronic quality measure data for the program. “An important part of the Quality Payment Program is to make it easier and less expensive to participate, so clinicians may focus on seeing patients,” said CMS Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt. “This first release is a step in that process, both for physicians and the technologists who support them.”
