The Department of Health and Human Services today released a notice with the Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program federal medical assistance percentages for fiscal year FY 2018. The notice provides state and territorial FMAP percentages for Medicaid, CHIP and disaster-recovery FMAP adjustments. The FMAPs are effective Oct. 1, 2017, through Sept. 31, 2018. In addition, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently announced the final federal share disproportionate share hospital allotments for FY 2014, preliminary federal share DSH allotments for FY 2016, and corresponding limitations on aggregate state DSH payments to institutions for mental disease and other mental health facilities.
