President Obama Friday directed the National Security Council to convene a federal interagency council to review and report on progress to advance the Global Health Security Agenda, a multi-country initiative launched in 2014 to prevent, detect and respond to infectious disease threats. Among other actions, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will track progress on the GHSA Action Packages, which are country commitments to advance and share “best practices” toward specific targets.
