'Take Back Day' Saturday to safely dispose of prescription drugs
Tomorrow is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, when the public can safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription pills at 4,700 sites throughout the country. Since 2010, the Drug Enforcement Administration event has collected more than six million pounds of pills, including opioid and other medications susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse. DEA offers posters and other materials to help hospitals and others promote the event in their community. Sites are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time.
