The Department of Labor today awarded Puerto Rico $6 million to employ temporary workers to help control the mosquitos that carry Zika virus, while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has awarded $13 million to create a mosquito control unit in the territory. In other news, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response this week awarded $43 million to further develop and test a Zika vaccine candidate.
