ASPR newsletter, webinar highlight hospital cybersecurity efforts
The Department of Health and Human Services’ Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response highlights “best and promising” hospital cybersecurity practices in its latest TRACIE newsletter and webinar on the issue. Newsletter topics include lessons learned from a recent ransomware attack on Maryland-based MedStar Health; an AHA overview of hospitals and health systems’ cybersecurity measures; a Food and Drug Administration update on protecting medical devices from cyber threats; and the HHS Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force. In the webinar, a panel of experts describe recent lessons learned, planning considerations and federal activities to address cybersecurity.
