CMS summarizes public process for states proposing Medicaid payment changes

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today issued a bulletin summarizing public notice and process requirements for states proposing changes to Medicaid payment rates, including requirements under a 2015 final rule for monitoring access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries. Failure to follow the proper public notice and process can result in delay or disapproval of the state plan amendment, the bulletin notes.
