The AHA’s Hospitals in Pursuit of Excellence, Institute for Diversity in Health Management and others will host a free webinar during National Minority Health Month on health equity and health care coverage. During the April 28 webinar, Cara James, director of the Office of Minority Health at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will discuss the agency’s Equity Plan for Improving Quality in Medicare and its “From Coverage to Care” initiative. In addition, leaders from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles will share strategies related to the hospital’s work on health equity, as well as steps hospital leaders can take to embed equitable care in their own organization.
