The Alabama Hospital Association today named as its next president Donald Williamson, M.D., who currently serves as state health officer for the Alabama Department of Public Health and chair of the Alabama Medicaid Transition Task Force. He will assume the association’s presidency around November. Current President Mike Horsley plans to retire at the end of this year. “Dr. Williamson has had a long and distinguished career in health care and is very aware of the future challenges and opportunities for hospitals and the patients we serve,” said Glenn Sisk, chairman of AlaHA’s Board of Trustees. “He has a long history of convening diverse groups to accomplish great things for our state.”
