CMS issues updated data on newly eligible adults enrolled in Medicaid

States last September reported enrolling more than 4.6 million newly eligible adults in Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act’s new adult eligibility group, according to data released today by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Reported through the Medicaid Budget and Expenditure System, the second quarterly report provides state enrollment counts overall and for the new adult eligibility group in states that have expanded Medicaid. Overall enrollment for September totaled more than 57 million. CMS expects to post enrollment data for subsequent quarters in the coming months.
