The Draft Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA)

Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Principal Deputy National Coordinator Genevieve Morris will join AHA Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. ET for a special webinar to review the recently released draft Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement. The 21st Century Cures Act requires ONC to develop or support a trusted exchange framework, including a common agreement among health information networks nationally. The draft TEFCA focuses on policies, procedures and technical standards that build from existing health information network capabilities and enables them to work together to provide a single "on-ramp" to patient information regardless of what health IT developer they use, health information exchange or network they contract with, or how far across the country the patients' records are located.
