Thursday, June 4, 2020
1 - 2 p.m. Eastern; noon - 1 p.m. Central; 10 - 11 a.m. Pacific

During this webinar, Nash UNC Health Care and Philips will discuss a surgical services assessment and performance improvement implementation conducted at Nash General Hospital and Nash Day Hospital. The assessment goal was to understand the current state of operations, evaluate existing performance improvement initiatives, and develop implementation plans for processes and strategies to expand and take initiatives to the next level. The performance improvement initiatives focused on building on existing successes with surgical services key performance indicators (KPIs). The implementation plan addressed first case on-time starts, case duration accuracy, room turnover time and avoidable cancelations. The speakers will illustrate the specific steps that drove the creation and optimization of KPIs.

Also covered will be the importance of having a strong leader in place to drive toward best practices and empower the team to strive for, achieve and sustain KPIs to put them on track for continued success. Lessons learned on how to engage surgical services staff in the design of a successful future state, optimization of existing technology, processes and building ownership of the project among team members will also be discussed.
