Altruism Matters:  How Volunteerism Improves Employee Well-being
Featuring Client Data Insights

Thursday, July 18, 2019
1 - 2 p.m. Eastern; noon - 1 p.m. Central; 10 - 11 a.m. Pacific

There is a strong connection between emotional and physical health. By addressing both emotional and physical health risks you can improve a person’s overall health. Research has shown that volunteering may be an unconventional but effective way to improve employees’ emotional health and, in turn, make a positive impact on their total well-being.

Using national statistics and insights from employee health data gathered over the last 20 years, Ann Rowland will address emotional distress in the workplace and traditional approaches to combat emotional health issues. She will then introduce the business case for using volunteerism as an unconventional way to improve emotional health in the workplace and share insights gathered from an Interactive Health client who is incorporating volunteer activities into its corporate wellness program strategy and seeing good results.

Attendee Will Learn:

  • Effects of emotional distress on the employee and employer.
  • The connection between emotional and physical health.
  • Volunteerism as an unconventional yet effective way to improve employees’ emotional health.
  • Practical applications and real-life insights gathered from an Interactive Health client who is incorporating volunteer activities into the wellness program strategy and seeing good results.
