Affordability & Value in Health Care

Affordability is one of the most important challenges affecting Americans’ ability to access health care. Yet no single, agreed-upon definition of health care affordability exists because it is influenced by many complex factors.

The AHA’s The Value Initiative provides education and resources needed to advance affordable health care and promote value within communities. These efforts — nationally, regionally, locally — help to better serve people, provide access to the best care possible and reduce unnecessary care.
