St. Peter's Hospital - For Women Only!

Women can learn how to feel and look better than ever at St. Peter Hospital’s annual women’s wellness extravaganza – For Women Only. The event, now in its 12th year, has become so popular that it is held at the Helena Civic Center and offers a wide spectrum of free health screenings, educational booths, and physician presentations. The annual event also features fitness and healthy cooking demonstrations as well as a fashion show.

What is it?

Women can learn how to feel and look better than ever at St. Peter Hospital’s annual women’s wellness extravaganza – For Women Only. The event, now in its 12th year, has become so popular that it is held at the Helena Civic Center and offers a wide spectrum of free health screenings, educational booths, and physician presentations. The annual event also features fitness and healthy cooking demonstrations as well as a fashion show.

More than 60 community organizations and businesses have booths where women can obtain education on diet, exercise, pregnancy and childbirth, incontinence, heart disease, self-breast exams, tobacco cessation, stress reduction, diabetes, skin cancer, cholesterol, and many more topics. Representatives from various support groups, assistance organizations, and educational, financial, and other resources are also on hand to dispense valuable information. Free wellness screenings include peripheral artery disease, blood pressure, grip strength and flexibility testing, body mass index, vision, dental, and hearing checks. Free chair and foot massages, skin consultations, and nutritious refreshments are also available. Bone density screenings and flu shots are offered for a minimal fee.

St. Peter’s Hospital is committed to providing quality health care for all citizens of the community. This program provides women with an interesting and entertaining way to focus on health and wellness issues. Through the wellness screenings, disease is detected and prevented.

Impact

In 2012, 1,200 women attended the event.
