What is it?

The Cassano Health Center, established in 2000, delivers a full range of primary and specialty physician services to all community members in need. The facility’s employees work with the primary care physicians, practitioners, specialists, and medical residents to provide tens of thousands of office visits annually. In addition to comprehensive health care management with preventive care and community health education on such issues as diabetes, smoking cessation, and nutrition, Cassano’s services include:

• Psychology
• Laboratory
• Radiology
• Pharmacy
• Social services
• Financial counseling
• Hispanic community services with full-time Spanish interpreter
• Other foreign-language interpreting
• Prescription assistance

Who is it for?

All members of the community, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Why do they do it?

Much of Cassano's patient population is uninsured, and many are welfare based. The goal of the health center is to help its patients become healthy and stay healthy, which is why Cassano offers everything from educational programs to state-of-the-art tests to the most advanced medical treatment available. Because Cassano is part of Grandview Medical Center, an osteopathic teaching facility and the second-largest osteopathic health care system in the country, it can offer specialties not typically seen at a facility of its size.
