Hallmark Health System - Community Outreach Teams

Hallmark Health System developed Community Outreach Teams, one for each core community in its marketplace, which are made up of volunteer staff members who tailor the health organization’s outreach to the specific needs and values of their assigned community. Activities have included donating cardiac defibrillators to high schools, staffing health information tables at community health fairs and collecting school supplies for students at local public schools.

Who is it for?

Core communities served by Hallmark Health System and its hospitals.

Why do they do it?

The goals are manifold:

  • To be at the table when communities face health-related challenges or needs.
  • To create a strong community outreach program that relies on human resources rather than financial resources, with goals established together.
  • To put a face on the organization and, more important, many faces.
  • To individualize outreach based on each community’s values and needs.
  • To build stronger relationships with key leaders and officials.
  • To increase visibility throughout the communities with events and sponsorships.
  • To really be a part of the community and respond as such.
