2016 Rural Hospital Policy Forum

Rural Hospital Policy Forum

Thursday, June 23
Russell Senate Office Building, Room 385
8:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.
Breakfast available at 8 a.m.

Come to Washington, D.C., to weigh in on rural hospital issues

The AHA is committed to driving federal action to ensure access to care in your small and rural communities. Please join us to hear the latest federal action on rural issues and to advocate for important rural priorities, including regulatory relief from the "direct supervision" policy and the 96-hour Rule.

Because of the abbreviated congressional schedule and many competing priorities for Congress, we must ensure that lawmakers commit NOW to pass rural legislation this fall. It’s vital that rural hospitals deliver a strong message to Congress to pass urgently needed legislation.

Speakers include:

  • Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), Ranking Member, Senate Finance Committee
  • Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS), Co-chair of the Senate Rural Health Caucus
  • Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT)
  • Erin Dempsey, Senior Health Policy Advisor, Senate Committee on Finance
  • Lisa Grabert, Professional Staff Member, House Ways & Means Committee

AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack and other AHA staff will moderate a congressional panel and provide an update on the AHA Task Force on Ensuring Access in Vulnerable Communities.

This event is open to AHA members and their state hospital associations only.
