U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, Chemical Casualty Care Division
Under sponsorship of the US Army Medical Department Center and School (AMEDDC&S) and the Office of the Surgeon General, USAMRICD staff of physicians and other highly qualified military and civilian personnel, organize, and implement and post-graduate education program for medical professionals and training for first responders in the management of chemical agent casualties. Course descriptions are available for in-house courses, distributed learning, and satellite broadcast.
U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases
Offers specialized training for military and civilian health care providers to enhance their capability to diagnose and treat casualties of biological warfare or terrorism. The six-day, in-house "Medical Management of Biological Casualties" course is held on a quarterly basis, and paired with the Medical Management of Chemical Casualties course offered by the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute for Chemical Defense. The three-day live satellite broadcast, "Biological Warfare and Terrorism: The Military and Public Health Response," is held each fall, with a taped rebroadcast on the following weekend. This interactive broadcast informs and educates health care professionals about the proper medical response in the event of an intentional biological agent release.
