‘Beautiful’ new facility greats first patients at new Intermountain Primary Children’s campus
Hospital, Miller Family Campus in Lehi on Historic Opening Day
Launched in 2020, Intermountain Health’s Primary Promise aspired to build the nation’s model health system for children. Four years later, the February 2024 opening of Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Campus in Lehi, Utah, marks the most significant boost in children’s health care delivery in the Intermountain West in more than 100 years.
“The care teams that we’ve recruited to help our young patients are among the most skilled and compassionate in the nation,” says Lisa Paletta, president of the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital, Miller Family Campus. “I’m so proud to stand with them as we honor our first three patients — and the thousands more we will care for in the years to come.”
The first three admitted patients to the new facility, all girls 14 years old or younger, were welcomed with cheers and applause from about 400 caregivers on the historic opening day.
“The new facility is beautiful. It’s amazing, with the windows, the view and the patio,” said Danielle Jackson, mother of Kylee Jackson, one of the new hospital’s first patients. “We’re closer to home, and it will help her feel like she’s not missing out on school, field trips and activities as much.”
The new pediatric hospital represents state-of-the-art care in a convenient location that spares many patients a much longer trip to Salt Lake City for treatment, giving families and kids time back for school, field trips and related activities.
It provides a wide spectrum of services, including an Outpatient Center, a trauma center and Life Flight helipad, a medical office building, and a five-story, 66-bed, 486,000-square-foot Primary Children’s Hospital.
