IHF center releases tool to support health care environmental stewardship
The International Hospital Federation’s Geneva Sustainability Centre, in partnership with Deloitte, launched a Sustainability Accelerator Tool Oct. 24 to help hospital and health care leaders assess and track organizational efforts to reduce emissions and promote environmental stewardship. The AHA, a founding member of IHF, will help promote the tool to U.S. hospitals.
“Working to reduce the environmental impact from hospitals fits squarely into the mission of hospitals and health systems — that is to care for, serve and advance health for their communities,” said Michelle Hood, AHA’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. “At the AHA, we recognize the progress being made in the hospital field to reduce emissions and promote environmental stewardship, social equity and fiduciary responsibility to support healthy and resilient environments. We’re pleased to be promoting this new SAT to our members to accelerate this effort.”
