AHA leaders take part in World Hospital Congress
AHA leaders are participating this week in the International Hospital Federation’s World Hospital Congress in Lisbon, Portugal.
On Oct. 25, AHA Chair John Haupert, president and CEO of Grady Health System, moderated a plenary session on contemporary leadership and developing the next generation of leaders; and Chair-elect Joanne Conroy, M.D., president and CEO of Dartmouth Health, moderated a session on addressing today’s health care delivery challenges. Rod Hochman, M.D., president and CEO of Providence and a former AHA chair, moderated a panel discussion on planning and designing sustainable and resilient health care systems; and John Riggi, AHA’s national advisor of cybersecurity and risk, engaged attendees in a critical thinking and strategic leadership cyberattack exercise.
Later this week, Delvecchio Finley, president and CEO of Atrium Health Navicent and chair of the American College of Healthcare Executives, will moderate a session on diversity, equity and inclusion; and Jonathan Perlin, M.D., president and CEO of The Joint Commission and a former AHA chair, will moderate a session on organizational initiatives to reduce environmental impact and promote sustainable health care.
